It was only with time and understanding that some of those impulses were tempered.
It caused Zhao Yunlan to say and do some of the most outrageous things he could think of. He wanted to pull those small huffs of amusement and smaller smiles from Shen Wei at every opportunity. Zhao Yunlan found he wanted to purposely push into Shen Wei’s tightly controlled personal space. To figure out what was behind that calmly collected expression and what might be beneath those beautiful suits. It made Zhao Yunlan itch to be around Shen Wei.
He was funny Zhao Yunlan, snarky Zhao Yunlan, or Chief Zhao, and with all of it Professor Shen Wei seemed immune to his charms. When their lives collided, Zhao Yunlan did his typical extroverted thing with Professor Shen Wei. It could have easily continued that way if it weren’t for one man. He didn’t want people to see beyond what he allowed. Over familiar with his oftentimes casual-sounding words, his busy hands, his lollipops, and his gregarious nature, and while that was indeed part of him, most never looked beyond it. Zhao Yunlan knew most people considered him quite a tactile person.
